On Friday May 2nd 2008 at aprox. Midnight Detroit 8th Battalion companies were dispatched to a box alarm for a reported dwelling fire at Penrose & Charleston. Upon arrival of Truck 18 they advised the 1st engine would be stretching on a vacant dwelling going throughout. Engine 44 arrived on scene and stretched on the dwelling. the fire was brought under control using the full box alarm assignment in approx. 40 mins. Engines 44/56/51 Truck 18 Squad 5 and Chief 8 responded to this box alarm.
