On Thursday April 17th 2008, Detroit Fire Department Communications dispatch a box alarm to Owen Between John R & Brush for a reported dwelling fire. Upon arrival of Engine 35 they advised they had a working fire and they would be stretching. Chief 5 arrived on the scene and assumed command and requested a fourth engine for RIT. A interior attack was made on the dwelling. and as crews made the attic and conditions did not improve Chief 5 evacuated the fire building and set up the tower for an exterior attack. The fire in the 2.5 story dwelling was brought under control in aprox. 1 hour using the full box alarm assignment. Engines 35/39/17/5 Ladder 7 Squad 3 and Chief 5 responded to this Box Alarm.
